We are crazy about shelties. We all know they are the smartest breed out there, and we want to meet you and your sheltie and invite you to come and have fun with us. Anyone owning a sheltie is welcome. Shelties don't belong on couches unless they are 29 years old! Put on your duds,
brush up your dog, make sure his/her shots/flea protection is up to date, and come meet us.
At November's meeting at 2pm on the 22nd at Cook Park, Shelter #1 in Tigard, we're having a Silent Auction. Bring a few bucks and bid on some great items after the walk: a beautiful sheltie floor mat, a Sheltie holiday ornament Kit would really like to keep for herself, a "picnic by the fireplace" set, and some handy items to deal with a winter-wet sheltie. Money will be all donated to Sheltie Rescue.
Every couple of months, we will try to have an expert come and help us with some of our special breed needs. We might have a groomer come and give us some tips on keeping winter coats beautiful. We might meet indoors in the coldest month to show you a video of where shelties REALLY came from. We are open to suggestions for interesting upcoming plans. We know the secret to keeping nails trimmed easily--do you?
If you are even thinking of getting a sheltie, you should come to this meet up to learn more. Owners can tell you a host of things about this breed. (This is a lot more fun than reading it all on the AKC web page.) You can meet all the colors of shelties and see if this is the right breed for you.
No Meetup in December. Don't forget to walk your dog!! He/she always needs exercise in order to be a happy, obedient sheltie!
Come join us for the last Sheltie Meetup of 2009!
We will meet at Cook Park in Tigard on Nov. 22 at 2 pm. We will meet at Shelter #1 unless it is occupied. If so, we will move on to the other shelters until we find one we can use. There are nice areas to walk and play with our dogs in and around all the shelters. Be sure to bring pickup bags to clean up after your dogs.
After our walk and play time, we'll meet up for our silent auction. Read more
