The Paris Urban Naturalist Club is a hub of exchange for displaced naturalists who are eager to connect with the city through its natural history, as well as for staunch urbanites who are nevertheless curious to explore nature as long as they don't have to leave the city!
As a native Californian married to a Parisian, I have had to adapt my naturalist yearnings to the constraints of city living, much as one trains topiaries for French gardens. In doing so, I have eventually discovered how fascinating the intertwining of nature and culture in Paris can actually be. A meetup seemed the 'natural' way to share with others of like mind as well as those coming at nature from a cultural or historical perspective.
Meetups will include visits to parks, greenhouses, aquaria, zoos, museums, plantariums etc., as well as lectures, films, discussions, and do-good events for conservation, all within or around Paris. Other ideas are most welcome. Please join us. We look forward to meeting up.
