(Try to bring your own water dispenser for your dog so they don't share with others - lots of possible stories of catching colds/kennel cough etc.) The Alice Kennedy off-leash dog park in Pasadena is easy to get to and is fenced in so we don't have to worry about dogs running into the street. There is a playground at the human part of the park and then 2 fenced areas for the dogs (small and large). We are now using the small dog side. There are watering stations, as well as some benches and shade areas. There are also poop bags and trash containers. Parking can be limited at times so park on the street if all the spots in the lot are taken. DON'T park in the turn around area at the south of the park (even if others are doing it - tickets are given often in that area)

Let's give this a try! We'll be at the Long Beach dog park on Sunday, August 23rd at 2 pm. There is a huge area with nice sand where the dogs can be off-leash. You can see more info at www.hautedogs.org Long Beach - Dog Beach Zone The Long Beach off-leash Dog Zone is a 3-acre, non-fenced site in Belmont Shore that was started by Justin Rudd - founder/director of Haute Dogs. Daily hours are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Between Argonne and Roycroft avenues in Belmont Shore. NOTE: Only one dog per adult. This is the only legal, off-leash dog beach in LA County. Details at www.DogZone.org. A few tips from our past experience: - don't bring food (or if you do, be ready for lots of dogs to be interested in your food) - DO bring LOTS of fresh water for the dogs - they tend to gulp up lots of ocean salt water and if they drink too much, they'll usually throw up (which is OK, but you want to be sure they don't get dehydrated) - bring a camera and take lots of pictures of your bully - watch your stuff - it's happened to me everytime - there is always a male dog or 2 who will come around and mark their territory if you don't keep an eye on them - bring poop bags - something about the sand makes them all want to poop there! This should be fun!
