Being 37 and moving here 3 years ago, I have found it very challenging to create a community here, especially one with men - particularly older, wiser men that I know are everywhere, yet hard to come by. These are the kinds of people with whom having a positive relationship would be really beneficial. Peers, too! Outside of a bar or a ball court, where is there really a place where thoughtful men who want to connect with their peers can go? I created this group to start a community where men, older and younger, can simply be a part of each others' lives and contribute to one another on a regular basis. I hope we make it happen.
What I think I bring is a lot of psychological knowledge. No from a therapeutic/clinical perspective, from a social-psychological and positive-psychological perspective. It's my work as a researcher. I also bring an open heart and mind to hear and contain others' stories and points of view, and I think with that I can take a perspective that can be valuable when people talk with me. I try very hard to understand where someone is coming from before I start talking. It's all about respect. And it's that respect that I hope we can all bring to the Circle.
Hi, A transplant to the area about 3 years ago, I'm a psychology and organizational behavior researcher and consultant. I'm 37, love classical and indie music, enjoy art, meditation, and lots of other things. Hope to meet you at the Circle. Nick
