Our June book meeting is set to be extra special, with the author of our chosen book hosting the Perth Chapter's meeting - Emma Chapman!
Emma Chapman was born in Manchester in 1985 and graduated from Royal Holloway MA in creative writing, where she was taught by Andrew Motion. "How to be a good wife" is her debut novel, & it is receiving rave reviews. You can read more about Emma (& her book reviews) on her website, which can be found here.
Emma will also be at our June meeting, freshly back from the UK & having hosted the London chapters' May meeting!
Emma's debut novel is called How to be a good wife, & can be purchased from Bookworld here for AU$23.99.
Venue & Cover Charge
We will be hosting Emma at our normal meeting venue, The Classroom. However, a cover charge will need to be collected for this meeting in order to cover the exclusive hire of the venue. We are usually kindly lent this space, free of charge, on the proviso that we will share the space if & when a function booking is made which coincides with our meeting date.
However, as this is a special event, we will need to book & pay for the space to ensure we are able to hear Emma (& each other!) speak. More information will be released when I am able to come to an agreement with the venue, however, I do not anticipate the cover charge being more than $10 entry, which will include some nibbles.
Look forward to seeing you all there for our exciting, second ever Author Event!
