Here is a special shoot for the those that are animal lovers. The Philadelphia Glamour Photography Group and Tri-State Photography & Arts are proud to present a benefit fashion shoot in support of the Whispering Woods Animal Rescue. This one is for the critters.

Whispering Woods Animal Rescue (http://www.whisperingwoodsanimalrescue.com/) is a non-profit animal rescue organization operated by Tammy Woods, a retired officer and exceptional human being. Tammy has been spending much of her free time over the past twenty years saving animals of all types. In 2010, Tammy was able to move forward with formalizing her dream of helping to find homes for predominantly abandoned dogs, and has cultivated an effective network of animal lovers throughout the country. By working through this vast network of caring individuals, Tammy has found homes for animals from across the entire North American continent. To watch her work with the animals is to see an expression of joy and compassion that is uncommon, and of course seeing the happy dogs, and other critters, get a home only helps it along. To assist Tammy and the WWAR organization with the much needed funding of her organization, the Philadelphia Glamour Photography Group and Tri-State Photography & Arts are pleased to present a benefit fashion shoot on behalf of the WWAR. Models and photographers can take part in a photo shoot that will give them a portfolio boost while helping to generate donations for the WWAR organization.

The Juniata Golf Course (http://www.juniatagolfcourse.com/) has opened their doors and massive parking lot for this event. Photographers will be able to photograph the models with the many different rescue dogs that will be on hand. We will even have a Philadelphia Police Department K-9 unit on hand for photo ops (it’s a dog-centric experience). There will be an after event party starting at 6pm (6pm-10pm)at the golf course recreational area (the party fee is $15 which covers the all-you-can-drink beer at the bar, with a portion of this fee going towards the WWAR fund as well).

Combing a fashion photo shoot and rescue dogs may be a bit unique, but with the proceeds going towards the WWAR organization, this will surely be a very enjoyable and special photographic experience for everyone.  Please review the above summary, as this photo shoot is to benefit an organization that is very active in promoting a non-kill, home-finding service for abandoned animals. Certainly email for more information if you are interested, but most importantly, please consider joining us for an event that will not just boost your portfolio, but help towards a greater good.

No hornets' nest Ashley, just some beneficial airing of feelings. I think putting these issues forward helps clear the air and gets us working together to help make this Meetup group one of the best around.

I must say as a model, my time was donated for the Animals, I was not expecting anything, but to help for the benefit. The pictures are just a bonus to me and I thank the photographers for there time and photos they have take. Once again this was a benefit for animals, not a portfolio shoot.

Also: as mentioned in the orientation, photogs have a 30 window to get images to the models (see the emailed pdf). No other group provides a contact sheet for events as we do. Please read your emails and the release terms on the sign sheet, as everything is spelled out to be as concise and informative as possible. All attending models & photogs were informed prior to and after the event on the expected protocol. If you did not attend the event, then please channel any concerns to Joe or myself.

I'll chime in on this, and let Joe make the final call. Models, please contact your respective photographers with any concerns, as the dollar value for any photo received in a workshop (i.e. free, at no cost to the model other than time in attendance, ESPECIALLY for a charity shoot) is still far cheaper than paying for photography services. This group has become the premier group of photographers due to their skills and level of care w/photos. Pleas use your contact sheet to follow up.

3 photos is certainly not a fair deal for a whole day of modeling, and we photogs need to do better, even for a model with no experience. But remember the shooters are also not paid, and in fact are required to pay to attend these events. Now if they photograph just 5 models, AND have to do the touchup work, that's 15 to 25 shots to redo if each model gets 3 to 5 images. Plus they would have to post ALL the images for the model to choose. What do you think would be fair for the shooters?

Busy, chilly, more busy, and hopefully a great experience for all. Many new faces and some familiar ones at this event. Even with a fluctuating model list, we still had more models than photographers. The animal rescue netted some sizable donations, so mission accomplished. Special props to Walter and the crew of the Juniata Golf Course for such tremendous courtesy with their facility, and to Meredith and Sarah (MUA's) for such hard work at getting so many models ready in a short amount of time.

Great event. The models braved some chilly weather, the animals were well behaved, and in great condition and very photogenic. ALbert did a wonderful organizing job and obviously put a lot of work into this. Thanks to the Whispering Woods "no kill" shelter people for all their hard work also.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
