First Friday: Some Like It Cold with ice cream tastings

  • August 2, 2013 · 5:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

As scientists engineered new ways to control temperature, different varieties of frozen treats made their way to our tables. Learn how processes and products have changed over time, and sample some locally made frozen favorites.

Three groups coming to speak: Zsa’s Gourmet Ice Cream, POP’s Water Ice, and Weckerly’s Ice Cream.

Talks and tastings at 5:30.

CHF is also also doing a pop-up exhibit about the history of frozen treats – 10 facts about that history.

Thanks for hosting Girish! For a science lover in me, the talk was fascinating. For the icecream/water ice lover in me, the samples were awesome. I'm so glad I came. :)

Thanks to CHF for hosting the event. The crowds rivaled their beer event a few months back. Glad I came to first session because their samples were getting pretty low by the time we were done with it and there were hoards waiting outside. Free icecream really brings out the beast in people:-).
Thanks to the 5 from our group and 7 from the other group who were able to sync up with me. It was good seeing you.

If you come before 5:30, look for me in the main lobby. Will have Meeetup sign and wearing dark blue shirt.
Once talk starts, we will be ushered in to some room, so you will have to come find us.
I have to peel of before 6pm, but if you head up on 2nd st after CHF event, there's tons of First Friday activities.

Wayne, can you host? I may have to slip away as early as 5:45, but I will be there before 5:30.
