The Delaware Watershed Conservation Program at the Academy of Natural Sciences will be hosting its second monthly happy hour seminar series at the Cherry Street Tavern on June 23rd. Matt Ehrhart, Director of Watershed Restoration at Stroud Water Research Center, will present “Strategic Implementation of Watershed Restoration Resources”. Food and drink will be available for purchase at the bar. The lecture will start at 5:30 pm in the back reserved room of the tavern.
Matt’s work is primarily on water quality, watershed restoration, agricultural conservation and preservation, and the associated policy and implementation issues.
Matt built and was responsible for programmatic guidance and oversight for a multimillion dollar agricultural restoration initiative in Pennsylvania that established 2100 miles of forest buffers, 4500 acres of wetland, and secured $14.8 M in federal funding for agricultural best management practices in conjunction with conservation districts and private business. He has worked to build partnerships and funding for alternative uses of manure and implementing precision dairy feeding. He has worked with numerous partners and funders to integrate science, policy and delivery mechanisms to build functional “on-the-ground” programs to address these and other issues.
