The Philadelphia Society of Small Streets Message Board › The Philadelphia Society of Small Streets (PSSS) Discussion Forum › More good & very bad news regarding "plumbers patches"
We contacted Councilman Squilla's office regarding the "plumbers patch" issue and specifically Warnock Street, who in turn contacted David Perri, (Deputy Commissioner of Transportation), who responded by saying that the Streets Department has rejected our suggestions on how to avoid "plumbers patches" and that there will be no meaningful change in Streets Department policy.
Next week we will send you, our members, David Perri's exact response and our reply and then, at that time, we will ask that you contact the Mayor, your City Council representatives, your civic associations, the newspapers, and anyone else who may be able to assist in ending this flawed policy.
On a brighter note, David Perri did say that the "plumbers patch" on Warnock Street would be fixed by the restoration contractor (Donato Spaventa and Sons) who is now working on Cypress and Jessup Streets.
