Post Thanksgiving Potluck Dinner

  • Nov 25, 2012 · 5:00 PM

We'll all be ready for some healthy vegetarian and vegan food after the holiday. Please join us at our house to eat, socialize, and share recipes! I'll make a large green salad and something hot for everyone! Bring containers for leftovers too!

Hope this messsage gets out to everyone as I am a little MWC (Meetup Website Challenged). Mary, come anyway. I would never keep you from dinner at my house especially at Thanksgiving! I will start doing these the last Sunday night of each month when it works for us, so look for the next meetup invite too.

Ha, I am totally MWC due to my dumb cell, too! Let's start a support group. Sara, you are endowed and not challenged in every department. :)

Excellent! You can't help but have a blast at Sara's and Stan's. They are the hosts with the most in every possible way. Friendly group, enjoyed meeting the new people. And devine food, as always. Sorry again my desserts weren't vegan, Sara and Stan. I blew it. :(

Another wonderful potluck! Thank you Sara and Stan for hosting. You are wonderful hosts.

It was awesome! Sara and Stanley and their 2 dogs are so hospitable and fun! The food was varied and delicious, and the company was great!

It was great to see so many people tonight. We really enjoyed meeting and spending time with all of you. Thanks for making such a great effort with the food. It was spectacular.

Sorry folks, but I think I'm coming down with a cold, so I'm going to spare you from my germs and not attend. Have a great time!

    November 25, 2012

  • Sue

    I don't have Sara's address (someone can leave a message for me[masked]).

    November 21, 2012

    • Himanshu

Sent it out in an email this afternoon.

      @Himanshu:
I'm now off the Wait List. Please send me Sara's addr.
      Thanks.

Is there a serving size we should stick to when making our dishes? like will a recipe that makes 4-6 be ok or should we double it?

    November 24, 2012

    • Judi S.

Remember everyone is bringing a dish -- if everyone doubled the size, we'd be feeding an army! I'd say stick to what the recipe says.

I'm looking forward to this. I think I will make a simple vegetable medley, but may go nuts with other types of dishes or dessert. I'm still cleaning my house from thanksgiving, so things are up in the air right now.

Hi Everyone! Looking forward to this. Can someone please send out the address? Thanks.

    1 · November 24, 2012

Sorry, it took me a while to do that. Email with address and details has been sent to those on the RSVP list. See you tomorrow!

      November 24, 2012

  • Carla M.

I'm probably going to arrive closer to 5:30. I'm coming from out of town, and the trains don't run as much on Sundays. Save room for my broccoli slaw! Sorry I'll be a little late.

    November 24, 2012

  • Judi S.

Let's see if we can get a list going here as to what people are bringing. I currently am thinking of vegan chili.

    November 15, 2012

Ive got some leftover pasta salad from my pre-thanksgiving party I can bring, and I will also be making buttery, garlicy brussel sprouts with Horseradish dijon mustard

I'm bringing vegan mac n "cheese."

      November 24, 2012

  • Sara P.

No need to bring dishes except container to take leftovers! Can't wait to see you Purnima.

    November 19, 2012

  • Purnima B.

I will bring an Indian dish (appetizer made with whole grains and lentils). Do we need paper products, drinks, plastic utensils, etc.?

    November 19, 2012

  • Mary

Bummer that this is filled up, we should schedule a second one!

    2 · November 18, 2012

  • Jill

Looks like we have a lack of desserts so far and that is about the only thing I can make anyway, haha...so I will probably make vegan pumpkin cupcakes or something of that sorts.

    November 16, 2012

  • Amy

I'll bring a cranberry, grain (of some sort), winter squash dish.

    November 16, 2012

    • Judi S.

Sounds good. I always love cranberry anything!

      November 16, 2012

  • Carla M.

Hi! I am thinking of bringing a nice big bowl of broccoli slaw. I've made it and brought it to other potlucks and people loved it! I add sliced apples, walnuts, cranberries and a vegan dressing to the slaw.

    November 15, 2012

  • Judi S.

I have an idea to make a pumpkin side dish if I can locate the recipe. If not, I may just make a vegan chili. Are we going with the Thanksgiving theme or sreering away from that?

    October 30, 2012

    • Sara P.

Hi, Judy. There is NEVER a bad time to make pumpkin. Feel free to Thanksgiving-it-up all you want. Whatever you make will be appreciated!

      October 30, 2012

  • Sara P.

So happy to be hosting this guys! I will make a huge spinach salad, and a vegetable briam to help detox from all the other Thanksgiving meals we ate!

    October 30, 2012

  • Amy

I'm so glad you're doing this!
