Do you find yourself pondering life and things and events in life philosophically?

Are you open to listening to others' philosophic ponderings?

Do you think you would enjoy engaging others in philosophic discussion?

Can you fit the Cafe into your schedule (2nd Wednesday night of every month)?

Always looking to learn more truth anywhere I can. Maybe this group can teach me something!

What David is saying about this Meetup Group

(2) While it was gratifying to see so many people interested in serious conversation, when a group reaches a certain size it becomes unwieldy and makes conversation difficult. It’s been said that the best conversations take place between two people; it’s long been said that “two’s company, three’s a crowd,” though obviously good conversations can take place among three or four or five or six or seven people; but somewhere in the teens, it becomes a “free for all” where people must compete for “the floor,” it’s hard to get a word in, and the voluble dominate while the soft-spoken recede into the background. In another discussion group I once belonged to, somewhere in the teens, the group leader broke it into two subgroups. That probably wouldn’t be a good idea here. But the other thing that could be done is to go around the circle and let each person comment in turn, instead of making people jockey to be heard. If the group remains this large, I would at least give that a try.
