The Arizona Film & Media Coalition (AFMC), the group representing Arizona's production professionals each year in its attempt to get a tax incentive program reinstated, needs your help. The AFMC will be holding a series of fundraising events during the remainder of this year to raise funds for lobbying efforts to get a Bill passed in the 2015 legislative session. The first effort is a challenge campaign that will match contributions dollar for dollar for all donations received this month!

Discount Tickets on Sale Now for APA's "Summer Splash Bash" 

 

Join APA on Saturday, July 26, starting at 11:00 a.m. for "APA Summer Splash Bash," a fun-filled family event at Golfland-Sunsplash in Mesa! This event is open to ALL industry professionals and their family members and friends.

 

Sunsplash has numerous water rides available for people of all ages, in addition to the 450,000 gallon wave pool. Older kids and adults can enjoy the Double Dare, The Revolution, Thunder Falls, The Cauldron, The Stormrider, Sidewinder and others. The whole family (or crew) can float together in the Lazy River or play games in the Activity Pool, and little ones will love the Tadpole Pool and Carribbean Water Works. And they have waterslides!

 

Tickets are only $30.00 per person, which includes admission to all Sunsplash attractions AND an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BBQ lunch with hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, cookies and unlimited soft drinks! Tickets for toddlers age 2 and under are only $3.00!

 

You can stay in the park all day once you're there from 11:00 a.m. on, but please note that lunch will ONLY be served from 12:30-1:30 PM, so be sure to get there early to enjoy the all-you-can-eat BBQ lunch!

 

We have the HURRICANE POINT pavilion reserved just for APA members and guests from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm, which is covered. Water and soft drinks will be available in the pavilion until 2:30 pm, and can be obtained in the snack bar from 2:30-5:00 pm by showing your wrist band.

 

Free life vests are available for the wave pool and are required for individuals under 48" tall. Other park attractions and rental items are available for additional fees, and guests can visit any of the attractions on the Golfland side of the park for additional fees.

 

Bottled water CAN be brought into the park. Please bring your own towels and plenty of sunscreen!

 

In order to get this special pricing, you must purchase tickets through the APA PRIOR to July 26. Tickets will NOT be available the day of the event.

Help the AFMC Get a Challenge Donation 

 

The AFMC recently received an offer from two prospective donors who together agreed to contribute $1000 if the AFMC can raise another $1000 by the end of July! We believe we can meet this challenge, but WE NEED YOUR HELP. As you can see, this no ordinary fundraiser. Donors can DOUBLE the impact of their giving, but the offer is ONLY good through the end of this month, so please act now!

What makes this even more exciting is that the AFMC board voted to extend this opportunity to anyone seeking general membership in AFMC through their joining fee. That means that if you join by July 31, 2014, 100% of the amount you pay will be matched dollar for dollar until we reach our goal.  

Why are we doing this?


With our ongoing efforts toward film incentive legislation, this year's elections will bring a fundamental change in the makeup of the legislature. The timing is right for us, but only if we are positioned to take advantage of it! Already over 125 new names will be on the primary election ballot vying for seats in the house and senate. Twenty-eight incumbents will not run again. That means that with new faces in the legislature and with a new governor being elected, we will have a singular opportunity to make an impact.


To do this we are looking at new ways to tap financial resources that will help us get our message out. This quick fundraiser is just one. Reaching out to businesses and corporations is another, as well as building key alliances with industries such as hospitality, tourism, and the other sectors of the economy that benefit by robust filmmaking in Arizona.


Please consider making a contribution to AFMC, either by joining and becoming a member of our team or by making a separate donation. Remember, no matter the size of your gift - whether you join or make a donation only - every dollar will be doubled through July 31 until we reach our goal.
