Farmer's Market Shopping

I think it would be a great idea if we could browse and experience the joy of shopping at the farmer's market together! I personally like the downtown Phoenix Public Market best because the variety is fantastic and they make a good effort to keep everyone cool with a/c units and misters. We could meet there on Saturday mornings to stock up on Paleo essentials and perhaps even have brunch afterwards! The Phoenix Public Market café has delicious offerings. There are food trucks there too but not exactly Paleo friendly. I am also open to the idea of meeting up at other farmer's markets throughout the valley to support those local communities. I would love to hear how everyone else shops to prepare their awesome Paleo grub!

I tried finding everyone - but since I got there at 10 a.m., I wasn't able to. 'Glad everyone had a good time. I got to the market somewhat often - so it was good to get out and see some old friends. Circle Key grass-fed meats is a great find as well as our friend Kenny with FishHuggers. I think he's up in Alaska right now - so he wasn't there. Unfortunate to see so many gluten products... not a good addition to one's healthy living. :-)

Well, we were a small but mighty group! We sure had a nice time checking out the vendors and scoring some great deals! I definitely want to do more farmer's market outings. I am thinking the next one will be downtown PHX on Saturday. :)

I got lost getting there. Then wandered around asking random people if they were part of paleo group. Finally asked Dayle and James as they were leaving. Sorry I missed the rest of you !! Did get some good things there

OMG. That was so cool. Melissa, Roxanne, and James, it was good to see you there. Thanks James for putting me on to the greatest vegetable juicing deal. I have pictures of what I paid 17 for and the $5 juicing bag deal. Way to go. That was great.
I am off work on Sun - Tue and able to get together sometimes on those days.
Dayle and Frank had fun with you.

I was just going to mention Lee Lee's. I live in Chandler and one thing you can tell by going to that market - coconut is a BIG commodity in so many cultures! Are there others in the Phoenix metro area? Are we the only ones blessed with such a big international market?

Are there any good Chinese markets here? Black salt, seasonings, coconut water, and lotsa other goodies are so much cheaper at a Chinese market than at whole foods etc.

Just moved to the area. Loved the markets in St. Louis (Soulard) & Kansas City downtown. Never found a good big market in El Paso but they had lotsa flea markets with little produce vendors, and lotsa local meat shops. Missed the big markets, can't wait to get times o check out the one here

I have some buddies over at this market. I used to go there virtually every Sunday. 9 a.m. ... I should mark it on my calendar. Would love to have company checking out all the goodies!

Wish we could make it to the Ahwatukee Farmers Market (we live close by), but we are taking our kids camping in Flagstaff this weekend. We're open to going there again sometime or else trying a farmer's market in another part of town. Just an FYI- that restaurant on 48th Street/Warner is called "Hillside Spot" in case you are trying to GPS it for an address. :)

By the way, I plan on hiking South Mountain before hitting the market, as per my Sunday morning tradition. :) We can meet at the Pima Canyon parking lot at 6:30am if anyone would like to join me!

Yea! I am so happy to see such an interest! How about we meet up at Zipps Sports Grill on the corner of Warner and 48th Street at 9am and we can check out the Ahwatukee Farmer's Market. It is a relatively small market but very community oriented. I am also open to suggestions if you all would like to check out another farmer's market somewhere else in the valley.

Coffee is Paleo to me! Of course, I brew my own at home with coconut milk. In that same shopping center at 48th St. and Warner, there is a cute little place called the Hilltop Café where people can get coffee.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
