do you own a ukelele?

I own five. Pono Concert and Tenor, Kamaka Koa Soprano, Hono Bari tuned open G for slack key and my favorite, a Koa Kanile'a that I bought on a trip to Kauai last year.

do you currently play or want to learn?

Mostly Hawaiian music, strumming with a little fingerstyle. I've also recently discovered Americana music (Nanci Griffith, John Prine, etc.) sounds pretty good on the 'ukulele. I've also fooled around with slack key 'ukulele.

Discovered the uke about 18 months ago. I've played with others a couple of times but would like to find a regular kanikapila in which to participate so I can continue to learn and improve.

What Paul S. is saying about this Meetup Group

You won't find an 'ukulele event more fun than this in the Phoenix area. I can tell you that after almost two years of trying to find kindred 'ukulele spirits in Phoenix with no luck, I had just about given up. Even my kumu 'ukulele had split town. This group is a great opportunity to get together with people who share our very unique musical interest.
