Wallace Dog Park and Leif Erickson Trail in Forest Park

Lets meet at Wallace Dog Park to let the dogs play and get out their extra energy and we will walk to Thurman St. and follow it to Leif Erickson Trail in Forest Park. I plan on walking about 4 miles and we will probably be getting back just before dark so a flashlight might be handy.

I am going on a hike in the Gorge so I won't be at Wallace Park at 2:00. I am using it as a buffer to give me and anyone else some extra time in case I or they are running late.  I plan on leaving the dog park at 3.

Please feel free to post if you want to meet earlier and stay longer. You can attend any part of this event that you would like. You can meet us at the trailhead if you want but parking is horrible. You can also park at McCleary Park and wait for us on the bridge and we can pick you up. Just leave me a note so I know to look for you.

Please meet at Thurman St. Gate around 3:30 if you don't want to meet at Wallace Park.

I'll send out my cell number the day before the event in case you need to get a hold of me.

Sorry everyone. Someone got hurt on the hike and it took hours longer than it should have. I was hoping someone would text me so that I could have let people know that I was still coming but late. Next time I'll have a sign or put one on the dog. I think this is a really good spot since the park is so small that if we are there, there shouldn't be a reason we don't meetup. There was a tree to the right when you walk in, or the picnic table (but there were lots of people of the table yesterday), or to the left of the table. Any other ideas. I want to meet in the park as my dog is nothing but energy and it is goo to get it our before a leashed walk. Everyone attending to have a tag might work too. I went around asking everyone with they were meetup and I got some really strange looks so I don't know if I want to do that again. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

We arrived a few minutes after 2pm and as we didn't see anyone waiting around the dog fenced area, we went inside and let our little guys cruise around for a bit. We still didn't notice anyone who looked like a group, so we left around 2:20 and took our own neighborhood walk which was enjoyable. Sorry we missed you all - Next time can we agree to meet in a very specific place in the park?

Never saw or heard from the coordinator, Kathy. A couple of guys and dogs finally decided to do the hike but we just had fun walking the neighborhood.

I got to the dog park around 2:20ish and met a guy named Jeremy who showed up not much later. We stuck around until about 3:15-3:20; probably just as you were getting there. We decided to try and see if other people were up at Forest Park at the Thurman gate or on Leif Erikson but didn't come across anyone. Sorry we missed you.

Sorry about that. There were tons of men at the dog park and a lot of people. I was surprised, didn't realize it was so small but would have been easy to find people. I talked to most of the people and no one was meetup. No one had a pitbull looking dog. I thought that you would at least show. You should have text me. Did you get the email? Since it was just you that showed I don't know if I want to post again. I do snowshoes and hikes and I am dog friendly so email me if you want more into. Zeus it out for the night after the hike today and over an hour at the dog park. A tired dog is a good dog.

I was running late and didn't get there until 3:20. Tons of people there but no one looked like meetup people. I stayed until 4:20. No texts on a cell so I guess NO one showed.

Hi! I woke up not feeling well. If I am not there at 2 p.m, I won't be joining the group.

I forgot to mention that I DO NOT allow solicitations on my events. I absolutely support local businesses but it kills the mood of the event when someone is going around selling their business and everyone is trying to avoid that person. Please respect this request and allow everyone to enjoy themselves. Thanks!!

Parking is free and street parking. There should be lots around the neighborhood. It is street parking at the parks and harder to find especially if the weather is nice. The dog park is small, but a good place to get the dog energy out and for a meet and greet before we leash them and head out for the forest.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
