Shackleton's plan was to cross Antarctic on foot, what actually happened was the pack ice trapped his ship. This story of survival and perseverance against the odds is an absolute classic of adventure literature.

You can find Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage here and here. I'll see you at the book pub!

Such an interesting and hair-raising adventure story - unparalleled & well worth getting into. I enjoyed discussing it. I hadn't gotten a chance to finish the book, so I learned a lot. Thanks, everyone!

Really great book. Amazing story. We'd all seen documentaries or had some prior information about the history, but Georgie won the prize - she is a true Shackleton follower.

I had a great time meeting everyone and have been a Shackleton fan for a long time. I'm looking forward to jack London next
