Middle School Dance...a chance to get fancy and have a ball.

So check this out.  Do you remember 7th grade...cheesy music, having to stand a ruler's length apart from your dance partner?  I sure as heck do.  Now you can relive those awkward years!

I found that image on the internet, some school made it, now I stole it.  That's how dedicated to this idea I am.  Basically you can go as a couple or as singles, if you're single, we'll get you some beads, that way you'll know who it's appropriate to ask to dance to "end of the road" by Boys2Men.  The real answer is that it was never appropriate to ask someone to dance to that song.  Not a fan of slow dances?  DON'T WORRY!  I am absolutely sure people will get jiggy with it at some point as well.

Dress code is FANCY.  Whatever fancy means to you.  The best part?  Aside from the cheesy decorations, amazing DJ, (probably free light appetizers), is that IT'S FREE!!!

So bring a date, find your true love, or just stand alone in the corner and be too darned shy to ask/be asked to dance, but relive your middle school days!

Have to agree with Dave. I wanted to make my name tag..."Can T Hearyou". I left after a beer and met two interesting pretty French travelers at Sushi Blues down the road

Dave we look forward to having you out at some other events. We do a meet and greet every first Monday. A trivia and karaoke night every wednesday. Both of these are more low key and it's easier to talk with people (well, until the karaoke starts). We also do a 4th Friday comedy show, while not a great place to meet people, it certainly is a fun time and makes a great date or place to just hang with some friends!

Kevin, thanks for the note. Seriously - no apologies necessary. I'll definitely come out to the other events. But I did mean to say...I know its work to put activities out there, and I give you guys all the credit in the world.

Thanks for organizing this Kevin! It was a fun idea and a fun location. Dancing 90's style is always a good time!

Great people, nostalgic music, and even if the DJ wasn't superb, he didn't screw it up either. I had a great time. More people should have dressed up!

As one of the 5-6 guys on the dance floor (vs the 15-20 women), I would have to say I enjoyed it. Next time join the party guys.

I did not enjoy middle school the first time around. So reminising about it was not that good. I found it to be exactly like middle school with cliches, etc. I left that "kiddy" stuff behind a long time ago. The only thing that was enjoyable is that I got to get out of my place for a little while.

Dave, I'm sorry you didn't have a fun time yesterday. I even think I remember seeing you and saying hi. Here's the thing, meetup is and always will be what you make it. If you sit alone and don't put yourself out there, you will miss out. There are people who come to meet up regularly and "cliques" will form, but they're mostly just friends who've met. Take the time to introduce yourself, say hi, be friendly...otherwise, you won't have much fun. I'm sorry that you didn't have a blast, but you're always welcome to come out. Thanks for attending last night.
