Announcing a new Meetup for The Raleigh Twenties and Thirties Social Meet Up Group!

What: UFC 119: Mir Vs Cro Cop

When: Saturday, September 25,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Tobacco Road Sports Cafe
222 Glenwood Ave.
Raleigh, NC 27603
[masked]

Fastest growing sport in the world is MMA, you can now take classes in Muay Thai at most gyms.

Before I'm judged, and for all the people that think the sport is barbaric, I can say the same thing about apple picking. An apple tree is a living thing, it blows my mind to think people actually pull branches aggressively just to get the fruit the tree produces. We can just wait until the apple falls off the tree, a sign that the tree is ready to give it up, but no, we don't. How does our impatience and selfishness make pulling the apple from the tree right? Did the tree give us a sign saying it's okay to pull the fruit of its labor? That's barbaric.

Frank Mir, the once gifted Heavy Weight, has now lost two out of his last three and needs this win to get back into title contention. Cro Cop is off and on, but had a surprising victory in his last fight. Both styles do well against each other and promises a good short fight, or a slug fest.

The Co-Main event features the other Nogueira against a guy that hasn't lost yet in Ryan "Darth" Bader, with the winner probably getting a title shot.

So come on out and grab some food, drinks, and watch some good fights. Tobacco Road is right on Gleenwood South, so afterwards we could head over to Noir Bar and Lounge around midnight, usually no cover.
