I've gone to this event every year since I've been in Raleigh, it's a great event and good excuse to dress up and mingle. The food is all you can eat appetizers, and the alcohol are local wines and beers from what I remember. Try to get there at a decent time though because the alcohol runs out real quick as you can imagine.
From the website
The Capital City Clauses is happy to host our largest toy drive, the 17th Annual Jingle Ball! Last year we collected more than 2,400 toys, and this year our goal is to collect at least 3,000 for The Salvation Army's Christmas Cheer program. Please join us and help bring brighter holidays to Wake County children!
An invitation is NOT required to attend the Jingle Ball; anyone 21 years or older is welcome. Each attendee is asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for a child (ages 2-12) valued at $20 or more. For those not bringing a gift, admission will be $30 by cash or check. Sorry, we cannot hold gifts for other guests ? you must provide your gift at time of entry in order to be admitted. And don't forget to bring your photo ID!
Food, Drink and Entertainment
Food and drink will be provided by Rocky Top Catering, Pepsi Bottling Ventures, local distributors and more. The event will also feature live performances by Doug Clark's Hot Nuts and music from DJ P-Fitty. Come eat, drink, dance and be merry for a good cause!
This year Jingle Ball guests can mingle in Marbles' East Courtyard in the comfort of a heated tent. While inside, enjoy tasty brews from several local and regional breweries, including Natty Greene's, SweetWater, LoneRider and more!
We are pleased to offer coat check services at this year's Jingle Ball, compliments of Planet Fitness. Bundle up for the trip downtown, then let your party dress shine!
Dress for this event is cocktail attire. Ladies, wear your cute holiday dress you have been dying to wear. Men, dress with slacks, sweaters or even your most festive holiday tie. No jeans, please! http://www.jingleball.org/index.html
