Learn to Make Paper Beads!

Join your fellow Rebel crafters in a paper bead-making workshop, lead by Meg!

Paper beads are inexpensive, a great way to reuse paper, attractive, and can be used in oh-so-many types of projects.

What to bring:  A ruler

Paper for making the beads (we will have a stack of plain white paper if you would just like to make some practice beads)

Juggling too many locations that day

I actually have never used newsprint for this project but I don't see why you couldn't. Any paper is good to use. The thinner the paper the more strips you'll need to roll together.

So scrapbook paper would work, right?

      April 28, 2014

    • Meg

      It would work fine

Is news print a better paper than glossy magazine print? I have tons of magazines i can bring.

This looks like a lot of fun! I find myself saving pretty pieces of paper but cannot allow myself to collage or scrap book. Is naturally/handmade paper a good medium for this activity?

I was planning on bringing a few magazines. Would this do? I can share them =)

I'll be bringing tons of paper-precut triangles so we can focus on rolling them rather than having to focus on cutting them. If you have a preference for certain kinds of paper, bring it. I love comic book paper (pages) and sheet music!

Oooh I have a ton of comic books to tear up for craft projects. I didn't know you could make beads with it. This is exciting.

Well, its up in the air as to whether I have my daughter or not that day. When it's settled I'll update unless this one is 11 yr old friendly. (totally get it if its not for kids time)

Hi Susan. There's been some interest in setting up a kid-friendly event soon, but this one is going to be adult only.
