I have been looking for a book group that matches my reading tastes and I discovered that 3 of the last 4 books this group discussed were books I read and really enjoyed. I liked Gone Girl so much I ave since read 2 more by Flynn.
Well, if I can pick a set it would be the 4 Rabbit books by John Updike. I doubt I will every read anything better than those 4, which I read over the course of 3 decades (as he wrote them). A single, non-set favorite is A Man In Full by Tom Wolf. I have never had such a good time reading a 900 page novel. Everyone I have convinced to read it since has loved it equally. An old standby fave, beloved by everyone it seems, is To Kill a Mockingbird. One of my favorite non-fiction books is A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson. Changed my life.
I like the Ethiopian place on Monroe Ave, Natural Oasis, but I don't really have a favorite.
Hi, I'm Jean. I love to read and I love to talk. Sounds like a good match!
