Naples Tax Day Tea Party Naples Bath & Tennis

“ Although the Tea Party on US 41 a few hours earlier was a tough act to follow, this event was just as exciting! Between 1,700 to 2,000 people came out to the Naples Bath & Tennis Club, quickly filling up their parking lots. When the drivers who came after that were turned away, some walked down from the shopping center on Pine Ridge Road (about 4 miles away)! The theme for the evening was "They want to change America. We want to preserve America!" Hosted by WGUF Radio's Bob Harden, the speakers included Jack Tymann, Brad Hobbs, Lavigne Kirkpatrick, and Bill Wilson. (See photo captions for details.) There was also plenty of music to inspire our patriotism, with the whole crowd joining in on our National Anthem and God Bless America. I was most deeply moved at the end of the program, when a WWII veteran (in his 90s) played Taps. Many people (including me) brought their protest signs. I also handed out FairTax flyers, and visited the information tables there. The day was a huge success! ”
