We will meet again next month April 13th at the Coffee Garden Cafe 2904 Franklinat 9:30 AM.
We will have or usual wide-ranging round table, the main topic is " Slightly off the main track tourist destinations". These don't have to be places you have been but could be just places you've dreamed about going. I'll share a couple of example. Goa on the coast of western India - Inhabited for at least 30,000 years, beautiful beaches, once on the trading network with Sumer (circa 2,200 BC) and now one of the richest parts of India. Urbino, Italy - A rather small area in central Italy in the Appennines Mountains. Due to the inhospitable nature of the terrain, Urbino grew mercenaries and with their leader the "Signori" Duke Federigo Montefeltros they were a power in Italian Renaissance politics [masked]). The Duke used his ill gotten gains to build a new palace and inhabit it with the finest art, books and manuscripts of the day, making Urbino a culture center of Renaissance Italy. The palace and some of the collection remain there to this day. So what hidden treasure or semi-hidden treasure have you been to or dreamed about, put your tale together and share it with us on the 13th.
