Communing with Nature Spirits, Hiking in a Sacred Manner (Newly Scheduled)

One of the most basic ways to get in touch with and remain in touch with Spirit is by being in the Natural World. There are a variety of lessons that are wrapped up in nature. We need to deeply listen if we are to glean the wisdom that is so freely available in this connection to source.

The former is something Medicine People through out time have taken very seriously. They would look to the natural world and the animals for signs. These signs would tell them when to plant, when to harvest, when to hunt, when to start families, when to make war and so much more. They would go into nature to find wisdom for handling disputes within families, or even tribes. They believed that Wakan Tanka or the Great Spirit would speak to them through nature. It is because of this that they would always enter nature in a sacred manner. They knew that everything in life is sacred and all of life is ceremony.

In this gathering we will explore how to hike in a sacred manner to gain the most out of the experience. We will learn to truly commune with nature and understand its personal messages for us.

As Albert Einstein reflected many years ago " To understand all of life more fully, one only has to look to nature"

Please bring a note book, water, something to sit on (if you choose, a towel or yoga mat) and spiritual offering (if you have).   If you do not have a spiritual offering, we will have along with us.   And of course bring a willingness to be open to a new way of being in the natural world.  You will see it will open up and embrace you in a very different way.  Krista and I are looking forward to sharing this wonderful way of walking the red road with you.   Munay.   See you all Saturday.

I have gotten several questions about the attire and difficulty of this event. It is casual attire, whatever you find comfortable. Closed shoes are best, like gym shoes. This is an easy hike, so you do not need to be in shape. We will be concentrating on connection with spirit and not lizard leaping over rocks (as my Grandfather would call it). The first part of the hike is in the Heiau area and is mostly feeling connections with nature. For the second part we will go to the trail head but are not hiking that far. As I said the main purpose is to understand how to hike in a Sacred manner. Once one learns to connect with nature, it will deepen every other trip into the forest. You will see more wild life, heard more birds and the forest will come alive for you. It will actually embrace you as a brother or sister. It is truly an amazing experience. Hope this answers the questions floating our there. We hope to see you there!
