Saint Louis FORWARD will be giving a presentation for funding at Sloup #34, and we need your help!

What is Saint Louis FORWARD you ask?

We a non profit devoted to promoting sustainability throughout the Saint Louis area. Currently are running programs designed to advance urban farming initiatives, and we plan to expand into areas of mass transit, supporting the arts and educating the public on sustainable consumer spending and the far reaching economic benefits it provides.

What is Sloup you ask?

Sloup is a monthly soup dinner that supports projects that need a little funding and belief.

One Sunday per month, Sloup brings people together over eats and community proposals in a different venue every month. The venues and soup are provided by local establishments, chefs, and community members. The event asks for a $10-per-person donation which buys you dinner and a ballot to vote for your favorite presentation. All the money raised goes to the organization with the most votes.

What is Saint Louis FORWARD hoping to accomplish?

The funding provided by this event would be applied towards our federal 501(c)3 Tax Exemption application. A 501(c)3 status will make us eligible for many more types of assistance, be it material or financial, which in turn will benefit all different forms of sustainability!

Have you ever considered doing these in st Charles? I own the Bike Stop Cafe in St Charles. We advocate for alternative transportation and have our own garden! We'd love to host one of these.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
