-Introduction-
Welcome to the Salem Dine Out group! Everyone is welcome, from the merely Epicurious to the Locavore to the LeCordon Bleu trained food critic. Let’s meet at local restaurants for some good food and fun!
We encourage suggestions on venues! We prefer locally owned establishments - not your typical chain, i.e. Olive Garden or Red Lobster! Most of our events are in Salem/Keizer, but we are happy to plan something for an outlying area and will even assist with carpooling.
-Group Attendance Policy-
This group has no minimum requirement for attendance. You are not required to attend any meetups, however complete inactivity (extended period of not logging-in) may result in removal from the group. You may rejoin at any time if you wish.
In regard to signing up for meetups, you may sign up for as many events as you would like. There is no restriction for attending meetups. Also there is no minimum time requirement to change your attendance intent. However, we would appreciate as much notice as possible. If you do not show for an event that you are signed up for, we have begun utilizing the no-show feature included in the website.
Because our group requires reservations, and restaurants often go far out of their way to accommodate our numbers, we cannot tolerate no-shows. We understand that last-minute cancellations are sometimes necessary and unavoidable. We ask that if something comes up you change your RSVP as soon as possible prior to the event. On the very first no-show we will contact you directly and offer a friendly reminder of our no-show policy (as follows). On the second occurrence we will offer another reminder and will consider revoking membership, depending on what the circumstances were. On the 3rd no-show we will revoke membership.
No-show's are visible to other meet-up groups and could be used as a factor when asking to join them. We will begin viewing a potential members no-show history and will take this into consideration before making a determination.
You may change your RSVP via the website, phone, text or email.
Our intent is not to punish you for not being able to attend, but to encourage you change your intent in a timely manner so that organizers know who and how many people to expect. Restaurants will often bring on additional staff, prepare additional supplies and open at special times for our group when we have sufficient attendance. Those things are motivated by the people we have signed up.
Thank you for understanding and abiding by our new attendance policy and welcome the to the Salem Dine Out group.
