, Meditation is one of the 12 Happiness Habits. In her book, The How of Happiness
, she writes, ?An avalanche of studies has shown that meditation has multiple positive effects on a person?s happiness and positive emotions, on physiology, stress, cognitive abilities, and physical health as well as other harder-to-assess attributes, like ?self-actualization? and moral maturity.? She adds, ?A number of intriguing studies have even revealed benefits of meditation for such seemingly intractible characteristics as intelligence, creativity, and cognitive flexibility.?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have many talents. Meditation is not one of them (YET!). I would still very much like Happiness 101 to benefit from this Happiness Habit, so I have called in a professional: Jon Scheffres
