Love the ride down to the tide pools and even the challenge of climbing back out. Our squirrel buddy was a bonus!

    Hi Ginger-
Wondering how this ride will compare to what I did yesterday... Loop from Del Mar north, out Via de la Valle, through Fairbanks to Santa Luz and back on 56 bike path. 23 miles- at least one decent hill, average 12 mph. What do you think?

Hi Deb, the Cabrillo ride starts at Doyle & is fairly flat (although can get fast 15-16 mph front group) but we always regroup. We then move onto some local bike paths & into OB where we climb Catalina. This is the longest climb of the ride about 4.5 miles and 900 feet. Depending on who shows up we will have several ride levels out there. How much climbing have you done in the past?

Bummer. I want to finally do a Cabrillo ride. Alas, I'll be watching my SF Giants beat up on the Padres at Petco Park on the 28th. :-)
