About 20 years ago I started with modern works and the subjects of ethics and politics before I recognized the importance of epistemology. Currently reading chronologically through major epistemology works, e.g. almost through Kant with Hegel next.
Whoa, you did? Well, thanks see you soon, I'm guessing.
Hi Chris. I asked if folks are vegan for the Darwin event so I would know how much 'alternative' ice cream I would need to buy. We often have folks come who would like to enjoy the food along the festivities but have definite ideas on what NOT to eat. I wanted to show a little consideration. Vegans are a small percentage of the general population, but there are a lot of humanist vegans. I guess the value systems match up pretty well: dignity, equal rights, naturalism, environmentalism, etc.
Hi Chris, You've come to the right place. Look forward to meeting you!
Hi Chris... Enjoyed your contributions in "Deep Thinkers" and remember you mentioning a meet-up on the topic of Beauty. Is it going to be in this group, or was it something in the past? My photographer friend and I searched without success for it. Hopefully it's something for the future!

Actually, while I am somewhat interested in how our immediate ancestors contributed to our minds, I am more interested in looking at the other end of the spectrum. For example, how did microbes develop the most rudimentary senses? How did pre-programmed complex responses develop? How did memory first arise? You get the idea. I suspect that without a good understanding of how these earlier developments occurred it will be very hard to figure out the later ones in any detail.
Hi Chris, welcome to the group, look forward to meeting you in person
