Going to the CMP match up at South Bay.

Bring out your service rifle with iron sights and test your skill. I always have fun, and it's only $20. Who knows you could win it all!!!

Hi Tim, CMP is the civilian marksmanship program, and yes your ar-15 is perfect. This match is for any military rifle as long as it has iron sights. So M1A's, garands, carbines, and ar' s are good to go. Ive even seen a couple of mosin's and 03 springfields out there. The other cool thing is once you comete in a match you are eligible to order surplus rifles direct from the CMP. Maybe next time!

Thanks for the response Mike! I have NO marksmanship experience with the AR - do you have any class recommendations, or is this sort of an event newbie friendly? I've not fired the thing more than 25 yards!

You'll fit right in...lol The last one I went too only 7 people showed up, and I came in 7th...lol. I would say get it dialed in at 50, and youre pretty good out to 200. It a very layed back match, with a great group of folks. Hope you can make the next one.

Hi Mike, I'm already going to head over to the Crossroads show, but I was wondering what this was? Don' t know much about CMP? I checked this link: http://www.sbrgc.org/html/cmp.html but still am not quite sure what "high power" means? I only have an AR15, would something like that be suitable for matches like this? Any other info you could provide would be great! Thanks!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
