Announcing a new Meetup for The San Francisco Django Meetup Group!

What: The San Francisco Django May Meetup

When: May 26,[masked]:30 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Meetup Description: This week our speaker is Mike Malone from Six Apart and previously from Pownce.com.

Mike will be giving his "Scaling Django Web Apps " talk from EuroDjangoCon (with some added extras specifically for this meetup talking about non-scalability-related patterns / tips / tricks that he found useful at Pownce.com).

But mainly, he'll discuss a series of bottlenecks that he ran into while scaling the Django-powered micro-blogging web site Pownce.com. He'll review his notes on some of Django's lesser known APIs, and share code that allowed them to use Django at scale on a highly dynamic web site. He'll show you how to use custom Managers, QuerySets, and cache backends to provide a robust, scalable foundation that maintains the simple architecture and clean abstractions Django provides.

Please remember to let us know if you're going to be eating pizza, and make sure to bring $5 if you are, because at the time of this posting there's no pizza sponsor.
