SFFB Food Drive at Safeway - 145 Jackson St. - 6 Volunteers

  • November 23, 2013 · 10:00 AM

We will be handing out flyers (above) in front of Safeway to encourage customers to buy a pre-filled bag of groceries in support of San Francisco Food Bank.

Bags contain canned tuna, pasta, pasta sauce, green beans, and peanut butter. Once purchased, customers can deposit the bag directly into an SFFB container as they leave Safeway.

The goal is to make it as easy as possible to donate food by allowing customers to give at the time of purchase.

We will also be providing contribution envelopes to those customers who would rather mail a money contribution.

You may wish to bring your family or friends, in which case just add them to your RSVP. It's a great way to learn and to teach your teens about community food issues during the holidays. Please be advised, each small child no younger than four must be accompanied by one adult - one small child to one adult.

Space is limited and they fill up quickly, so RSVP soon! Remember to ink that day and time on your calendar so you don't forget!

We were a small mighty team that brought in several donations, and certainly planted the idea of donating in many more people. The Safeway staff was very supportive. Thanks to all.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
