Prep and Assemble Meals at Project Open Hand - 8 Volunteers

We will slice and dice veggies and assemble meal packages at the Project Open Hand kitchen and grab a drink on Polk Street afterwards.

DINNER IS SERVED by Project Open Hand between 5:00PM and 5:30PM for all participating volunteers.

POH is a non-profit that provides nutrition services with love for people with critical illness (including HIV/AIDS, breast cancer) and seniors. They service over 8,000 clients with a multitude of services that include meal delivery and pick up, weekly bags of groceries and hot lunches at senior sites.

Dress Code: It is important to note that all volunteers must be 15 years or older and dress appropriately in close-toed shoes, shirts with sleeves (no tank tops) and pants that cover the full leg. Hats are also welcomed for volunteers who prefer not to wear hairnets.

hey i'm a bit confused - i was told by the volunteer coordinator at Project Open Hand that today is just an orientation, after which point we will need to furnish proof of TB vaccination, followed by another kitchen orientation on saturday. unless we have already completed these three requirements, we will not be allowed to volunteer today. Has everyone already completed these requirements? or was i simply misinformed? please advise :)

Hi Emily: The TB vaccination is required if you want to volunteer as an individual and commit 6 months at POH. We are still on for tonight. Please follow the dress code as listed here and in the email reminder. See you soon at 5 o'clock!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
