One of the most requested features in ASP.NET is now available with built-in support for the MVC (Model – View – Controller) architecture. The ASP.NET MVC Framework enables a clean separation of three application component roles: models, views, and controllers.

Models maintain state, views display the user interface, and controllers respond to user interaction. One key benefit of this clean separation is that the testing of the application is far easier, which is great for Test Driven Development.

This introduction to the ASP.NET MVC Framework will build a web application based on the Fourth Coffee eCommerce web site, a traditional ASP.NET application.

A demo and code samples will be presented, mapping common features and functionality to this new framework, showcasing many of the new features available, and including some of the more advanced capabilities of the framework highlighting the extensible nature of the architecture.

Clayton Peddy is the Managing Architect at Terrace Software, Inc. He's a Computer Science graduate of California State University, Chico. Clayton began his career in software design and development in 1994. He is a professional author and speaker focused on Microsoft technologies and their practical use in a wide range of projects.
