Let’s Build Modern, Standards Based JavaScript HTML5 Web Apps!

Speaker: Clayton C. Peddy

Over the last year, we have been discussing jQuery, Knockout, Breeze, OData, MVC and WebAPI. This week Microsoft released their Web Tools[masked] update which includes the latest Single Page Application MVC template bringing everything together. jQuery, Knockout, WebAPI, tons of AJAX? It’s all here.

Let’s discuss common practices for building a JavaScript HTML5 application built on a RESTful server API. Clayton will demonstrate the newest web tools, show off the latest beta code and cover a few additional topics like using claims based Json Web Tokens.

I just uploaded a very simple project demonstrating use of the Microsoft.IdentityModel JWT code. Questions? Feel free to create a discussion and we can keep the conversation going. Thanks!

It was very helpful... It deserves 5 starts, but the reason I'm giving 5 stars is because it was too many information for a short time... great job by Clayton he was an incredible exponent.

Thanks Edgar. I totally agree, it was a whirlwind tour across many of the latest technologies...most of which few developers have actually had a chance to use on a daily basis. Let's plan on having more focused discussions around these concepts.

Thanks to Clayton for a very informative evening. Looking forward to when he posts his code on JWT. Authorizing web service calls has always been tricky for those of us relying on FormsAuthentication and his solution appears very elegant.
