This will be a hands-on ontology modeling session with Dean Allemang. Dean will demonstrate the use of TopBraid Composer, an ontology editor from TopQuadrant.

Dean Allemang from TopQuadrant will give a tour of TopBraid Composer, our popular ontology engineering environment. The presentation will be focused on the Free Edition of TopBraid Composer, and its use for some common ontology engineering tasks, e.g., Reading RDFa, managing vocabularies in SKOS, querying data with SPARQL, and utilizing SPIN, a SPARQL-based inference mechanism.

Bio

Dean Allemang, Chief Scientist of TopQuadrant, has more than 15 years experience in research, deployment and development of knowledge-based systems. He is the co-author (with Jim Hendler) of "Semantic Web for the Working Ontologist: Effective Modeling in RDFS and OWL".
