Healthcare and BioMedicine offer significant opportunities for the applications of semantic technologies, across the entire spectrum -- from implementation of taxonomies to complex ontologies, vocabularies, thesauri, data integration across subdomains (research, clinical data, pharmaceutical, etc), NLP and inferencing. They also offer significant challenges and stretch the capabilities of each of these dimensions of semantic technologies. In this meetup, we discuss some of these challenges and what practitioners are doing to address them.
