One of the fun activities one can do in the California during summer is to go on a whitewater rafting trip. The trip that I have organized is a one-day rafting trip down the south fork of the American river and it is considered one of the more popular trips.
Details are as follows: We are planning to do the Gorge run on Saturday. This run is rated "Class III"; quite suitable for first timers and people who have been rafting before.
It is recommended that you camp on Friday night if possible to avoid getting up very early Saturday morning to meet everyone to start rafting. Camping reservations have been made at Camp Lotus in Lotus ,CA for Friday night. If you plan on camping Friday and/or Saturday night please indicate that with your RSVP and add the $11 per night to total amount that you will be paying the trip.

Our guides are well trained and experienced. They are composed of previously commerical, institutional and private guides. This is a private river outing, non-commerical and non-institutional river trip organized for this meetup. The cost is "Shared Cost". We estimate the trip cost will be $45 which covers lunch, county and park fees. Being that most of the guides are river conservationists and are members of Friends of the River(FOR), we ask that you join Friends of the River with an annual membership(tax deductible fee) of $35 which goes toward protecting California rivers. The purchase of the FOR membership helps the organization serve and protect California river and connects you to Friends of the River outings. Once you have paid $80 online by PayPal please RSVP "Yes" so we will have an accurate count of who will be coming on this trip. Please note for price comparison purposes, web searches has indicated that the prices for one day commercial rafting trips down the south fork of the American river range from $95-150.
A limit of 10 people existed for this trip so first come first served. An informational meeting/social hour will held at Southern Pacific Brewery[620 Treat St.(Near 19th)] in San Francisco at 6:30pm on Wednesday, June 26 so you get your last minute questions answered and meet the other people whom you will be rafting with.
Please look for a life jacket to mark the area where we are sitting
This rafting trip promises to be a great time; awesome rafting guides, and a opportunity to help protect & restore California rivers all at the same time.
Hope you can join us on this trip!
