  • This location is shown only to members

The snow has arrived and more is on its way to Tahoe so lets take advantage of your Epic pass and the snow while we still have it.

A great way to do so is by joining the meetup group for a day of skiing/riding at Squaw Valley ski resort by car or bus!

If you want to come by car

Please start a posting in the discussion board and initiate a car pool or two. We will meet by Shirley Lake chair around 11am. If you are coming by car please RSVP"Yes" and put in the comment box "Car" so we can watch out for you.

If you are thinking about coming by the bus.

The Bay Area Ski Bus folks has provided our meetup members a $10 discount(use promo code:sfskiclub) so the cost of the trip is $119. If you have a pass; just buy "the bus only" package only and use the $10 discount. Please click on the following link to reserve and pay for your space on the bus(if this link doesn't work for you please copy it and paste on your browser):

After you have paid for your space on the trip please RSVP "Yes"no less than 5 days prior to the day of the trip or you will not be able to take advantage of the "Early Bird" discount rate and put in comment box that you are coming on this ski trip by "Bus" so we can get a good head count. Please be aware that if you wait until the last minute to pay online there may not be space available.

Pickup location in San Francisco is[masked]th St., San Francisco,CA[masked] between DeHaro and Carolina Streets. There are other bay area pickup locations if needed.

Here are the reasons for joining us by bus on the trip:

-Someone else will be driving in the morning!

-A continental breakfast is available in the morning.

-Arrive at the ski area between 8:15 and 9:00am with good weather

-A Squaw Valley ski lift ticket ($99 value) is also included as part of the bus trip

-Ski or Ride until 3:30pm or 4:00pm

-Back to the bus for hot choc and snacks between 3:30 and 4:14pm

-Someone else is driving home after a good day of skiing and riding!

A pair of inexpensive ski bibs from Sports basement would work; also if you are taking the ski bus; there is free happy hour at Lombardi's as well as a discount for ski gear for taking the ski bus.

I plan on driving up and staying in the area to go skiing at Alpine the next day. I'm willing to carpool and bring along 2 others if you have similar plans!

A trip to Sugar Bowl looks more inviting at this point (free lesson and rentals included). Can do it on this particular week day so why not?

No Worries, Simone! However, I would definitely recommend taking a beginning snowboard lesson pkg which includes the equipment and lift ticket. It would make for a better time at the resort.
