3 ride spaces March 8/9 SF to Kirkwood: Backcountry / Cross country skiing around Carson Pass (downhillers welcome too ;-)

The snow is great, and more is falling next week.
I'm again going up to Kirkwood next weekend, Mar 8th, Sat early morning (or Mar 7th, Friday evening if people prefer).
I can offer space for 3 additional riders with gear.

I'll be skiing the backcountry around Kirkwood/Carson Pass. E.g. one day on AT (or bring your telemark/split boards) at Carson Pass with skins; one day on XC/BC ski. Downhill skiers can share the ride too, of course.

You can either join me on the trails or ski the Kirkwood groomed trails. I can take up to 3 more people with gear in my van. More can join by their own car/pools or use http://winter.kirkwoo....

I'm staying in my CamperVan (can accommodate three people besides myself, you must have sleeping bags and comfortable with winter temperatures) but would be happy to bring you to your preferred hotel in the area and grab beers.

All but two of Kirkwood's lifts are open.
For those who prefer groomed/skating at the XC center (http://winter.kirkwoo...
70 kilometers of machine groom track with skating and classic lanes are open. Trails include upper trails to Schneider Camp up to Coyote Pass, Meadow trails and Caples Lake trails. Another 5 kilometers of snowshoe only trails are open too.

If you score a night in Kirkwood proper: it's just across the road. The Inn and XC center are just a 1/4 mile East of the Kirkwood Meadows Dr. There is also Caples Lake Resort half a mile further (http://capleslakereso...)

If you want to sign up, my event is probably soon on this meetup group. It's currently posted here:
