I started this group as a way to bring Hike Enthusiasts together that want to enjoy the vast array of trails, intense beauty, and local history of the San Gabriel Mountains.

We are not professional or paid hikers. By joining this group you acknowledge that The San Gabriel Mountains Hike Group, it's owner, assistant organizers, members, or staff members are not liable for any injuries you may suffer while participating in our events.

Please be sure that you are physically fit to attempt the hikes that you sign up for.

Make sure that you have the proper gear. If you are not sure, you can post questions in the event comment section or email the hike leader.

Some of our events have a limited number of available spaces. If you sign up for and event and your plans change, be sure to change your RSVP to NO, otherwise you get marked as a NO SHOW. Three no shows and organizers can remove you from attending furture events.

When creating your profile, please be sure that your primary picture is a recent photograph of you. We're going to see what you look like when you show up anyway. There are a lot of pictures taken along our hikes and they are often uploaded to the site afterwards. In the unlikely event that you should become seperated from the group on a hike and end up lost, we need the picture to show to those that may volunteer to look for you. Fortunately this has not happened, we're looking to keep it that way.
