Our next San Jose WordPress Meetup date!

For this meeting, we'll be hosting our usual roundtable discussions...

• How to get off the ground with WordPress;

• How to add features to sites; and,

• How to maintain a site for the long-run.

Be sure to bring your laptop with you for this meeting.  We'll be looking up cool websites and answering questions on the fly!

Here's the Skinny on where to Park

The meeting will be located at the downtown San Jose NextSpace co-working facility, so parking is a premium.  Therefore, I recommend parking in the underground lot under the Safeway Market on the corner of West San Fernando Street and South Second Street.  This Safeway store validates up to two hours of parking for purchases as small as a pack of gum.  We normally start right on time, 5:30pm, and end at 7pm, so a 2 hour validation works great.  The NextSpace building, where our Meetup will be held, is kitty corner to the Safeway store (a short 2minute walk).

See you soon!

    I'm curious about Google News Sitemap. Google only wants certain types of content as news. My plugin allows you to select categories that automatically go to Google news sitemap and pings Google News etc... But my categories don't fit neatly that way. I'd be curious about if there is a manual way to do add items that is relatively easy. And also generally about the advantages and disadvantages of posting stuff as news. And to the extent that you do it, how to optimize it so you get best SEO and traffic as a result.

      Unfortunately can't make it have to do a meeting on patent trolls in sf tonight. Looking forward to next time.

    I am very interested in learning about good subscription plug ins that allow you to decide when you want subscribers to receive information.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
