The Santa Monica Running Group Message Board › Ultramarathon Team and Weekend Fun
Los Angeles, CA
Good Afternoon, Runners.
We have solid weekend planned for you guys.
Starting with the Mountain Goats run, which will meet in Temescal Canyon. This is one of my favorite trail runs, which offers amazing views from up top. Come on out!!! Please RSVP:
Next, our Sunday Group run is an optional fundraiser for the American Red Cross. Come on out and run with us. Whatever distance you run, donate that amount to the American Red Cross. So, you run 5 miles, you donate $5. We have created a donation link to make this easy... http://www.crowdrise....
Donations are not required. If you've already donated in the past or simply don't want to, just come on out and run with us. The more, the merrier. We'll have different distance options. More information about the fundraiser can be found on our FB event page:
We're doing this with several other groups, so expect more people than we usually have during our Sunday group runs.
One last quick note... Team in Training is starting a brand new Ultra Marathon team. It's an exciting venture for TNT as the Ultra Marathon team participant will train to complete the Leona Divide 50 Kilometer (31 mile) or 50 Mile races end of April. Applications are currently being accepted. If you wanted to do an ultra marathon but didn't know how to get started, this is an EXCELLENT opportunity. Like many other TNT programs, this new team accommodates beginners nicely. While we do have a few basic fitness requirements, no prior racing or trail running experience of any distance is necessary. You will be guided by a great coaching & support staff, have organized group training options several times per week, and be given all the resources & clinics you need to ROCK the race, all while fighting blood cancers. You can become a part of this team by going to: https://www.teamintra... After entering your zipcode, choose "Leona Divide 50M/50K" as your event. If you have any questions or need more info, please simply respond to this email.
That's all I have for you guys. Please let me know if you have any questions.
See you Saturday/Sunday.
