Sunday A’Fair features free outdoor concerts in Scottsdale Civic Center Park by the Valley’s top musicians, along with a fine arts and crafts market. Guests are invited to bring blankets, lawn chairs or picnic baskets and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of great entertainment. Let's bring our own "picnic foods" and sit together.
Foods from the vendors, snacks, beer & wine, are available for purchase. There are no tables and chairs, just plenty of lawn space. If you are not familiar with this park, it is really lovely. The main Scottsdale library is located here, and also the Scottsdale Museum for the Performing Arts. In Old Town Scottsdale.
If it is raining, we will cancel!
Our group will have a YELLOW balloon so we can find each other. Stop by whenever you like. We will be in the rear left of the lawn area (as you are facing the stage.) We need a volunteer to get the balloon and arrive by 1:30. Who will do it?
The amphitheater is located on the Scottsdale Civic Center Mall at 75th Street and Main Street. Free parking is available in the public parking garage located to the west of Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and directly behind Los Olivos restaurant on Wells Fargo Ave. Additional free parking is available at the Old Town Parking Corral at East Second Street and Brown Avenue and at the Civic Center Library parking garage located on Drinkwater Blvd at East Second Street.
From 2 PM - 4 PM the band is Jazz Con Alma
Translating as "Jazz with Soul," Beth Lederman and Jazz Con Alma provide just that. With an emphasis on Latin jazz, they range from traditional Latin to contemporary music with the spirit of improvisation. I have heard this group before; they are good!
(From Noon to 1:30 there is Flamenco de Leon, A blend of Flamenco & Poetry, but I didn't think we wanted to meet so early?)
There are more concerts scheduled at this venue - check out the web site! You are welcome to host another concert event here.
