Julia’s 8th Annual Holiday Party + Pot Luck

This is a Fundraiser for Animal Shelters: Bring a $5. bill for the jar.

Julia’s house is so unique, and the pot-luck spread is the best ever. You will love the cozy conversation by the fire-pits, and the friendly people you will meet. This party is with several Meetups and groups, not only for our ‘Just for Fun’ group. Bring your favorite holiday CDs too.

POT-LUCK: Julia asks - Please bring a "quality" potluck dish and BYOB. "Quality" means no packaged cookies, and no grocery store-bought desserts (TJ & Costco OK). Please no veggie trays, they remain untouched. Kudos to those who bring a main dish. Crockpot plug-ins and BBQ grills will be available. If you are "potluck challenged" you can e-mail Julia, [masked] for suggestions of no-cook party items to bring, instead of food.

DRESS WARMLY: Assuming no rain, the party will be held outdoors in the backyard! There will be several fire-pits for warmth, and a propane heater. Be prepared! Dress in layers, as the temps will drop later in the night. Yes, gloves, scarves, hats, down jacket!

$5 COVER CHARGE: (unemployed need not pay) is donated to local no-kill (501(c)(3) animal shelters, who rely on public donations. So, please be your usual honorable self and bring a $5 bill for the collection jar at the entrance.

DRINKS: This is a BYOB, even water. Beer and wine is OK, but we expect folks to drink responsibly, and not drive home if they are impaired. You can sleep at the house if you feel unable to drive.

I enjoyed it very much. I like the fact that we were outdoors with the heaters and fire pits going. The music was good and I got a chance to really meet some nice people. Looking forward to the next meet. Thank you Julia for opening your home.

People bring whatever they think others might enjoy eating. If you are not a cook, Costco, Trader Joes. the deli dept. in grocery stores, and a number of restaurants, have dishes that can be purchased. The one thing that should be avoided is chips and drips. Julia specifically notes that in her invitations. Also, it is BYOB and that even means water. But a word of warning, people end up drinking whatever drinks are out so if you want to drink your drink, you almost need to keep it with you. You can email Julia at [masked] and she might tell you other esentials that are needed such as paper plates, etc.

What a GREAT idea, collecting for a no-kill animal shelter. I am so in favor of that. Can hardly wait for December 8th.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
