Matsuri Festival of Japan

This FREE festival is one of the best! It's a celebration of all things Japanese. There are many exhibits and demos featuring arts & crafts, music, dance, koi, karate, bonsai, and of course Japanese food! Enjoy 3 stages of live entertainment. My favorite is Taiko Drumming!
The Arizona Matsuri Festival takes place at the Heritage and Science Park which is right in the heart of downtown Phoenix on the Southwest corner of 7th Street and Monroe. There is a tall parking garage at the corner of 7th St and Washington. I believe the garage is $5.

The Festival is on both Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5pm, but OUR GROUP will meet there on SATURDAY at 2 pm by ASU Stage, at ASU Center Court. The Phoenix Drummers will be performing. I will wear a big white cowgirl hat so you can find me!
Performer schedule has now been posted on the web site,  it is: http://azmatsuri.org/

Here's my HAT !

Six of us found each other at the appointed meeting spot. It was sunny and crowded, and there was so much to see! Genevieve bought 2 beautiful blouses made from kimono silk. See photos.

During one of my visits to this festival, my husband (a photgrapher) took some wonderful colorful images. It is a great way to spend an afternoon. Love your hat.
