I was a folk dancer in California and I used to teach Greek dances.
I like very mixed Balkan dances

I love this idea, though I live a bit far in Olympia..but would be very excited to come. When I lived in Berekey in the 60's there was a wonderful dance place (Ashkenaz) which had a different kind of ethnic dance 2-3 times a week. The format was similar to what you propose. Teaching first then free dancing. Finding the Greek, Balkan or Israeli great dancers/teacher
s would be the challenge.
Oh no, I am so bummed. I have a writer's meetup at 4pm on Sundays and dance each Sunday night in Burien :-( Let me know if you ever schedule a day other than Sunday :-)
No, there's no dancing at Sarajevo Lounge - at least not the kind you're talking about. On the weekends, it turns into a dance club for the Euros...It's more like Euro pop/disco I'd imagine.
Welcome to the group, Fred!! Hope to see you at an event in the near future.

Hi Fred,
Thanks. I hope my new new knee will work out as well as my "old" new knee!! Is your Sunday dance going to be monthly, do you think??
Thanks Fred! I'll see what kind of interest I get on the Poker night and plan accordingly. Stay tuned!
Hi Fred! Welcome to Global Seattle! I look forward to meeting you tomorrow at our monthly ethnic dinner.
Welcome Fred! Hope to see you at the Russian Center!
