We get jobs posted to our message board fairly often, and I've been asked several times if it would be ok to email the group with these available jobs. I've always said no, I don't want people to feel like they're getting spammed with jobs offers. But I thought I'd ask what you think.
Do you want me to allow (moderated) job emails to be sent out to you, our members? I'm fine with it if you are. It'd be easier than checking out our message board for jobs.
If you're a rails dev, you already know, there aren't a whole lot of resources out there for us, not like there are for php, that's for sure.
I thought it would be helpful for all of us railers to interact, learn, share, network, and hang out.
As far as I know, our RoR group is the biggest and one of the most active in Seattle. We have laid back hang-out style meetups weekly, and every 4-6 weeks or so we try to hold an educational/networking meetup where we can all get together, network, and learn.
At our educational/netoworking meetups, we often have businesses from the area who use Ruby on Rails come talk with us about how they're utilizing it in their respective technologies.
Come join us and and help us turn this .net town into one with a vibrant Rails community.
