6 mile - Signal Hill Evening Hike

Enjoy the AMAZING Views!!

NOT A BEGINNER HIKE!!!! If you are a beginner please plan on getting into condition before joining our group or plan for being left behind!!!!!

Come join us as we climb up and over and all around Signal Hill.

WE LEAVE AT 6:30 SHARP!! Plan to be there a few minutes early.

The majority of the route is on pavement and asphalt, but we do hike one dirt trail. Shoes with good traction are recommended. Jeans are NOT recommended. This is not a "stroll"...we HIKE...so plan for moving and sweating.

We meet at the corner of Redondo Ave and Hill St in Signal Hill. Park on the street. We start by climbing Hill Street (the "decider"!), and head over the hill to Stanley, Cherry Ave, Skyline Dr and all points in between. The hike is about 6 miles long and takes about an 1 3/4 - 2 hours to complete. Well behaved and well socialized dogs (must be on a leash) are always welcome too.

This is NOT a beginner hike and we go at an intermediate to fast pace. This is not necessarily a difficult hike but the pace and the hills classify this as intermediate. Sometimes we will have slower paced people so you can join us at risk that the majority of the group will leave you behind.smile The route is tricky and you WILL get lost if you cannot keep up.

I (Robin) lead most nights, but you can also look for regulars Greg or John as well.

Nice sized group and even though the front pack split with a really fast pace, great job by all! I will miss the next couple of Tuesday nights due to orchestra rehearsals but will see you all next Thursday. Have a great weekend. I am off to my "snowshoe" race now in Big Bear...more like a muddy trail run race. ;-)

Glad you like them, I will keep bringing them for the group since my tree is still full. Plus they are good source of replenishing our electrolytes after the hike.

However, I still would trust "Atoms", they make up everything... ;-)

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
