Are you the new kid in town? Come to Singapore New in Town Meetup (SNIT) to mingle with other new and not-so-new locals and visitors. Find fun things to do, cool places to go to, and a bunch of friends to come with you!
We are an informal group with members comprising locals and expats, PRs and Citizens. Many have lived here for many years, and many have returned home after living and working overseas. We have organised many activities before, meeting up at pubs, social events, bars, coffee, dinner, bowling, dancing, restaurants etc.
Singapore is a small place, but has a lot to offer. We hope locals can mix with those New In Town (NITs) and show them around, both fun and educational places. With encouragement and advice, we hope our group (SNIT) is able to help the newbies integrate into the Singaporean way of life and also have fun whilst working hard in a hardworking and tough environment. This is the purpose of the SNIT Meetup Group. We also want to let everyone know that there is much to do in Singapore besides movies, eating and shopping.
Join us and you will be able to see, and join the fun, adventure and new learning experiences. We are expected to have new dining experiences, new member mixes, and activities including (but not limited to) bowling, dancing, skating, golfing, beach ball, paintball, wakeboarding, mountain biking, bird watching, camping, bbq, canoeing, visiting factories and breweries, and even adventure trips to Malaysia and nearby countries. There will be a pretty long list of activities in our time-table, and simple but enjoyable activities for all, young and not-so-young. Join SNIT to feel renewed and meet friends and enjoy the simple activities and the comaraderie of our members.
Feel free to suggest events and organise them yourself, using SNIT as a platform. It's the best way to make new friends. Event Host(s) will be assigned to those willing to help, and he/she will be given full authority for that event. We also aim for low-cost events, and it will generally be non-profiteering, except occasionally to cover some minimal administrative costs. Small get-togethers may be nicer for newcomers than big events.
Enjoy this wonderful journey with us!
